"Poverty Simulation"  The poverty simulation experience is designed to help participants begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month.  It is a simulation, not a game.  The object is to sensitize participants to the realities faced by low-income people.  In  the simulation, participants assume the roles of 26 families facing poverty.  The task of the "families" is to provide for basic necessities and shelter during the course of four 15-minute "weeks."  Participants will have the opportunity to share their feelings and experiences and talk about what they learned about the lives of people in poverty.

This is and EXCELLENT training for staff and volunteer mentors!   Goodwill Industries of Denver has provided this training for mentoring programs, nonprofits, and schools all over the Denver area.  The CMP is thrilled to be able to offer this to at the Symposium!  $15 additional fee per person.  Limited spaces available.  First come first serve.

Networking Happy Hour!  Thursday, April 30th from 5-7pm at the Roadhouse by DU.
